Tara Brach, Ph. D., is a clinical psychologist and teacher of Buddhist meditation. She is the author of Radical Acceptance (Bantam, 2003) and True Refuge (Bantam, 2013.) In addition to her direct teachings, 10's of thousands of people around the world listen to her free weekly podcasts that address the value of meditation in reducing stress, relieving emotional suffering and serving spiritual awakening. Tara is the founder of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, and teaches meditation there and at centers throughout the United States. She lives by the Potomac River where she hikes with her dog, kayaks (with husband and sometimes dog) and revels in the goodness of mother nature.
